Artist : Teresa Duncan

Media/Specialty: Pottery / Some painting in watercolors, pastels, and colored pencils

Background: I have been involved with creating and teaching art for many years. I attended Oregon State University for 3 years, then transferred to the University of Missouri @ Kansas City, where I finished my BA in Art Education, with special training with “at risk”, inner city youth. I taught in Corvallis, Oregon at the Corvallis Art Center, Artist in Residence programs and after school programs at local elementary schools, as well as teaching in several Retirement homes, and classes for mentally challenged adults.

Since moving to Ontario in 1999, I have concentrated mostly on my ceramics work, but do occasionally get a chance to paint with watercolors, pastels, and colored pencils focusing on florals and animals for the most part.

I do teach each summer in our local MAD Camp (Music, Art & Drama) for youths from ages 9-18. I am currently the pottery and stained glass teacher.

I also take in rescued animals, and spend a lot of my time caring for dogs and cats that have come to me in need of medical care, and a good home to live out their days.
